My Role

I was the sole UXUI designer for Grant Compass, an early-stage grant finding platform, translating product requirements and stakeholder feedback into accessible search, filtering, and grant-discovery experiences.

Scope

Product definition → information architecture → wireframing → interaction design → accessibility → stakeholder feedback → design iteration → development support

The Problem

NGOs and grassroots groups with limited resources can spend up to 10 hours weekly searching for grants. Common challenges include finding suitable grants, starting the search, and locating current funding opportunities.

The Solution

Design a centralized, accessible funding search that helps organizations quickly find and evaluate opportunities relevant to their work. Search and filtering tools narrow results by focus area, location, eligibility, funding amount, and deadline.

The Duration

Outcome

I combined user research with input from the product owner and developers. Together, we turned user insights into practical features that were useful, clear, and realistic to build.

These insights continued to shape the final MVP design around a simple search entry point, progressive filtering, concise grant summaries, clearer eligibility and deadlines, and ways to save, share, and export opportunities for collaboration.
